The leaves are turning that beautiful orangey-brown and there is a definite chill in the air. Autumn is here which means we need to start thinking about what we are going to wear.
Rue Belle will give you a few of the key trends for this season.
All things Velvet
We are obsessed with velvet. Velvet everything, from suiting to crushed velvet to anything in-between. It was all over the catwalks for A/W but here is some easy and wearable ways to get it into your wardrobe.
Marks and Spencer, Zara, Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang.
Let's get Sporty
The casual sporty thing has been around for a while, however we are changing it up a little with cricket inspired tops and sports jackets. So many of the women at fashion week were teaming this look with heeled boots and and skirts to give it a feminine edge and make the outfit feel less casual.
Zara, Topshop, Zara, Rag and Bone
Opening Ceremony, Stella McCartney, Zara, Maje
Everyday Luxe Lady
Tailoring has been further updated to create different shapes and lines. Be brave; tie, knot and wrap your shirting and your trousers, play with materials and detailing. Many designers and stores have made this style incredibly wearable.
Cos, Isabel Marant, Storets, Zara.
Overall this season is about being daring, almost anything goes. Wear clashing prints, team with some statement earrings, and by all means leave one at home if you want to and top it off with some retro specs! But if all that sounds a bit overwhelming, don't worry, ease yourself in with some added embroidery to your tops and trousers and get yourself a bomber jacket and you will be right on trend.
