While the weather seems to be making it’s mind up and the tempertures are fluctuating, we are needing to layer up without having to go and spend a fortune on a new wardrobe. The key is to make your summer wardrobe work through autumn.
Here are a few tips to help you, remember it’s about layering your clothing.
1: Summer Dresses
This is a really easy way to adapt your summer dresses, whether they are florals, spots or gingham they work well with either a knitted jumper or chunky knitted cardigan. Team with some on trend ‘Dad trainers’ or your trusty ankle boots and you are ready to go.
2. Linen clothing
Linen doesn’t have to be seen as just a summer fabric, teamed right this could also work through autumn. With shirting, wear with you favourite jeans and pair with a plaid oversize blazer to make it fit this seasons trends. With light coloured linen trousers, these could be worn with mules or short ankle shoe boots, a fine gauge knitted jumper and a light weight jacket like a trench to finish off the outfit.
3. Slip Dresses and Slip Tops
You probably all know this trend already, it’s and oldie but goodie and great for this transitional period. layer your slip dresses with either t-shirts or high neck polo tops and finish the look with trainers or boots. This also works the same for the slip tops, team with your fave shape jeans or camo trousers (very on trend now) and finish the look with your shoe of choice.
Another great way to add an extra layer with your shirts is to add either a roll neck jersey top or t-shirt underneath. This creates a more styled look, but also keeps your toasty.
